Sonoma County Interfaith Public Fast
Our Interfaith Public Fast in Support and Witness of the Migrant Community of Sonoma County on July 2, 2025 was a beautiful, meaningful, and energizing day. Fourteen religious and other organizations co-sponsored the event, and over 40 churches and denominations were represented among the participants. See photos of the concluding gathering by clicking here.
Interfaith Public Fast stands in solidarity with all migrant communities, including LGBTQAI+ migrants and other additionally vulnerable people. Especially in this time of increasing harassment by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which threatens individuals’ rights and the destabilizing of our wider community, we invite people of faith and people of conscience to join us in this act of fasting and non-violence.

Our first public fast was Thursday, March 2nd, 2023, from sunup to sundown, in witness and solidarity with the unsheltered of Sonoma County. Many people participated, fasting in some fashion, and many attended our gathering at the Life Center at the end of the day (see photo gallery below). We remain committed to supporting the unhoused and unsheltered community in this county, and encourage you to click on the resources button below, and offer your funds or your time to one or more of the organizations listed there.
